We are Tara Agen and Beth Koppel, and we would like to represent you as Democrats on our Town Committee for District 11. A Democratic Committee Member is a volunteer position that helps identify issues within our District and organize solutions with our Democratic elected leaders.
We are getting involved so we can make a difference for our neighborhood and District. We created The Garden Party because of our commitment to be part of the solution. It all started as a result of many conversations we’ve had amongst friends and neighbors in Tara’s garden.
Then, as we brought the dialog to you when we canvassed the neighborhood in June, here’s what we heard:
Our declining local economy has been tough on our working families, Senior Citizens and small businesses. Others wanted to better understand Suffern’s current building initiatives (Orange Ave and The Quarry). Some of you wanted more proactive ideas to improve neighborhood recycling, manage our natural resources, and continue to support community policing. Some of you wanted to increase the effectiveness of education, create and better market our downtown Suffern experience, and drive more effective communication with local government.
We believe that the greatest ideas for change exist within our own community. Together, we can organize great neighborhood solutions to help solve our local issues.
We ask you to vote for both of us on Primary Day, September 9, 2008. There are four (4) available seats for District 11; 2 new positions were added this year! We would appreciate your support and vote.
